✈️ Behind the Scenes – Designing the Next SnapScape Adventure!

31 July 2026

The next SnapScape Outback piece is taking shape! Inspired by the iconic RFDS aircraft, this rescue plane is being designed as a chunky, durable toy that's built for play—not just display. We're also proud to share that, once the Outback Rescue Set is complete and available for purchase, a percentage of every sale will be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service to help support the incredible work they do across rural and remote Australia. ❤️ Still a work in progress, but it's exciting to see another uniquely Australian adventure coming to life! #SnapScape #EMTDimensions #BehindTheScenes #RFDS #3DPrinting #ToyDesign #AustralianMade #BuildPlayExplore

✈️ Behind the Scenes – Designing the Next SnapScape Adventure!

The next Outback piece is officially on the workbench... an RFDS-inspired rescue plane!

Over the last few days I've been experimenting with different ideas, including opening roofs and interactive features. In the end, I decided to keep it true to the SnapScape philosophy.

This won't be a fragile display model.

It's being designed as a solid, chunky toy that's built for little hands, ready for big adventures, and durable enough for everyday play.

Current design goals: 🛩️ Inspired by the iconic RFDS Pilatus PC-12 and King Air aircraft. 🎨 Multi-part design for clean colour printing. 🧱 Strong, printable construction with no delicate pieces. 🛞 Rolling wheels and a spinning propeller. 🧲 Designed to fit seamlessly into the growing SnapScape Outback collection.

There's still plenty of refining to do, but it's exciting to see another uniquely Australian piece taking shape.

What do you think? Should I keep it as a solid, durable play plane, or is there another feature you'd love to see without compromising its strength? Head on over to our facebook page and let us know in the comments.
